Creative Kids Performing Arts – About Us
“Creativity is intelligence having fun” – ALBERT EINSTEIN
Creative Kids Performing Arts features a “mother and daughters” team of teaching artists who are dedicated to helping children develop self-confidence and creative expression though performing arts education. We are teachers as well as playwrights, composers, dancers, choreographers, musicians, actors, and singers. It brings us joy to be able to share what we have learned through our training and experience with our amazing students.
The Creative Kids Performing Arts Team
Diana Lynn Carter – Artistic Director
Diana is a firm believer in sharing your artistry and passion with others. She is grateful to work with her daughters and fellow teachers, Whitney and Lindsay. Raised in a musical family, Diana started singing and playing the piano by ear at the age of 4 and began songwriting in her teens. She studied creative arts, music, and journalism in college and put herself through school working as a contracted teacher, coach, recreation leader/supervisor and waitress. She received her bachelor of arts from San Jose State. Later, she went to graduate school at Chapman University and studied education. Diana began teaching music and theater arts in schools and performing arts studios in 1996. She wrote songs and plays to use as curriculum. The writing came easy to her because of her writing background. Diana’s professional writing career started in 1980 when she was 21. Since then she has been a feature writer and columnist for newspapers, a radio news reporter, music jingle writer, children’s radio writer and voice talent, an assignment editor for television news, commercial writer and producer, an actor, a voice over talent for television and film, and a playwright. In August of 2005 Diana combined her love of performing arts education and media and music production and she established Carter House Productions.
Diana has written and produced several music albums, musical plays and music compositions. Her recent music albums include: Creative Kids “Sing Along with Nana Diana,” released in August of 2018 and “Creative Kids – Original Children’s Songs” by Diana Lynn Carter and Lindsay Carter Coates released in 2016.
